Chrysler News

Chrysler has created the only website among the Detroit Three that accepts applications for both hourly and salaried jobs.
The new website, www.chryslercareers.com , replaces separate sites for hourly and salaried workers. It debuts as Chrysler prepares to add at least 2,350 manufacturing jobs in the next year in Detroit and Toledo.
Unlike its Detroit competitors, Chrysler has not used explicit referrals from employees in its post-bankruptcy hiring process . The company hires only from online applications. To avoid gathering far more applications than it has openings, many of Chrysler's hourly jobs are posted for a short time -- a sore subject among job-seekers who routinely checked the old hourly jobs site without finding an opening.
But the new site allows applicants to register their interest for a certain type of job, even if it's not posted. Chrysler will send them an e-mail or text when it posts a position that might match their skills and interests.
"It's about that candidate who really wants to work at Chrysler: We don't want to lose them," said Georgette Dulworth, director of diversity and talent acquisition.

The job posting still closes after a certain number of applicants have registered, but interested candidates at least have notice when the application process first opens. Current employees also get a notice at work that jobs are posting.
After a job posting closes, the automaker screens applicants in the order in which they applied. In recent years, it has built a bank of thousands of résumés, so it may not open an application window for all plants that will add jobs.
The new site opens with an animation of a Jeep driving through scenes of Chrysler workers from all areas of the company. The trip kicks off with the slogan "Be part of something bigger," chosen from employee focus groups.
Any Chrysler model has the uncanny ability to both fit in and stand out at the same time, and that is because of the company's unique standards. Designed for performance and pleasure, Chrysler has also been a force to be reckoned with when it comes to unbridled style. Judging by the sleekness of some of their autos and parts, it is easy to see why most drivers feel as if their version was created especially for them. In the past, the perks of a luxury automobile normally didn't coincide with the dependable and economical features Chrysler has to offer, which is precisely how the company rose to prominence. Generations later, Chrysler owners still have the same gratification behind the wheel. At CARiD, we love people who love their cars. And that’s why when it comes to your Chrysler Accessories and parts, we showcase the very best.
From specially designed grilles to chrome trim, the finest Chrysler Accessories and Parts you need are always within your grasp. We know what you expect because we feel the same way. The best fitting Chrysler accessories are important to you, so dress your car up. Let CARiD.com be the closet.

Batman Drives a Chrysler

Chrysler just won’t end its association with a dark and brooding urban presence. But now that presence is Batman, not Detroit.

For the July 20 release of The Dark Knight Rises, the final piece of the Warner Bros. “prequel” trilogy about the rise of Batman, Chrysler has launched an “Imported from Gotham City” campaign that kicked off with a contest that allows fans to help create an original co-branded TV spot featuring the Chrysler 300 and Batman.

On Tuesday the campaign continued with the first airing, on NBC’s America’s Got Talent, of a 3o-second co-branded spot by the automaker and the studio that depicts a “transformation” of a Chrysler 300S into a custom-designed Chrysler 300 “Dark Knight Rises” edition.

“The TV spot was designed and shot to look and feel as if it could live inside the Gotham City itself,” Chrysler CMO Olivier Francois noted in his blog.

Affiliating with The Dark Knight Rises is an interesting strategy for the Chrysler brand. It has been veering away from its original, Eminem-based “Imported from Detroit” positioning since it ran the thematically associated but polemically challenged Clint Eastwood spot during the last Super Bowl in February. The most recent significant ads from Chrysler are a suite of four TV spots that the company hatched several weeks ago, one for each of its brands, and none of them relies on being set in the Motor City.
