Chrysler has created the only website among the Detroit Three that accepts applications for both hourly and salaried jobs.
The new website, www.chryslercareers.com , replaces separate sites for hourly and salaried workers. It debuts as Chrysler prepares to add at least 2,350 manufacturing jobs in the next year in Detroit and Toledo.
Unlike its Detroit competitors, Chrysler has not used explicit referrals from employees in its post-bankruptcy hiring process . The company hires only from online applications. To avoid gathering far more applications than it has openings, many of Chrysler's hourly jobs are posted for a short time -- a sore subject among job-seekers who routinely checked the old hourly jobs site without finding an opening.
But the new site allows applicants to register their interest for a certain type of job, even if it's not posted. Chrysler will send them an e-mail or text when it posts a position that might match their skills and interests.
"It's about that candidate who really wants to work at Chrysler: We don't want to lose them," said Georgette Dulworth, director of diversity and talent acquisition.

The job posting still closes after a certain number of applicants have registered, but interested candidates at least have notice when the application process first opens. Current employees also get a notice at work that jobs are posting.

After a job posting closes, the automaker screens applicants in the order in which they applied. In recent years, it has built a bank of thousands of résumés, so it may not open an application window for all plants that will add jobs.
The new site opens with an animation of a Jeep driving through scenes of Chrysler workers from all areas of the company. The trip kicks off with the slogan "Be part of something bigger," chosen from employee focus groups.

Chrysler is using the 2012 Chicago Auto Show,  to commemorate the 75th anniversary of its Mopar performance parts division by displaying several Mopar-customized vehicles. Their display is using the modified cars to demonstrate how they can be modified — either directly from the factory or at the dealership — with aftermarket parts to add style and performance.
Among the customized vehicles on display is a special-edition Chrysler 300 sporting specialized modifications that are added at the factory and can be ordered directly from dealers.
“Customization is king,” said Pietro Gorlier, President and CEO of Mopar, Chrysler Group LLC’s service, parts and customer-care brand (pictured above). “These head-turning ‘Moparized’ vehicles show how we can go to the next level of personalization.”
The all-black limited-edition Chrysler 300 “Street Machine” features Mopar-blue pinstripes and black 20-inch forged aluminum wheels wearing high-performance all-season tires outside. Chrysler 300C overall verdict.  
We'll only get two versions of the 3.0-litre diesel V6 in the UK, available in 187bhp and 239bhp trim. The latter also boasts 406 torques, and will do the 0-62mph dash in 7.8 seconds. Not massively quick, but considering it weighs two tonnes, not bad either. We might, might get the US's Pentastar V6, and considering the Grand Cherokee now comes in SRT-8 trim, there is hope of petrol firepower.

Eminem (Image via RottenTomatoes.com)Earlier this year, Chrysler scored a touchdown with its "Born of Fire" Super Bowl ad, featuring Eminem, the Selected of God gospel choir, and the 2011 Chrysler 200. This Thursday, the automaker is hoping for a repeat with a new commercial starring a long-deceased writer and a nearly 100-year-old poem.
The writer is Edgar Albert Guest, a former poet laureate of the state of Michigan who died in 1959. The poem is "See It Through", which Guest wrote in 1917. While "See It Through" may not be the most memorable three stanzas in the history of English literature, its message of determination and drive is a good match for the Detroit-as-underdog theme underpinning Chrysler's "Imported from Detroit" campaign. Backed by the Muddy Waters tune "Mannish Boy", the commercial has an undeniable appeal.
Will it work?
After Chrysler emerged from bankruptcy in 2009, the company's marketing arm took a lot of heat for producing feel-good branding pieces, like the very strange one dedicated to Nobel laureate Aung San Suu Kyi. Dealers were perhaps the most vocal critics, clamoring for product-focused ads that talked about specific models people could buy.
While Chrysler's made great strides on that front as far as Dodge, Jeep, and even Fiat are concerned, this spot seems so focused on Detroit and the people who live there that the Chrysler 300 kind of gets lost in the shuffle. That doesn't make it a bad ad -- in fact, it's hugely memorable compared to most of the car commercials on TV -- but it may not be quite what dealers want.

Chrysler earned a net income of $212 million during the third quarter of 2011. That figure marks a significant improvement over the same period last year, when the company posted a net loss of $84 million. Chrysler notes that its modified operating profit more than doubled compared to the third quarter of last year. The automaker posted a modified operating profit of $483 million for Q3 2011 compared to $239 million in Q3 2010. Chrysler sites an increased demand for the company's multiple refreshed products as well as increased sales volume, better pricing and more advertising as the reason for the improvements.
In addition, the manufacturer posted net revenue of $13.1 billion, which marks a 19-percent increase over the same period in 2010. Chrysler is optimistic that its new four-year labor contract with the United Auto Show full PR text

2011 Chrysler 300C.
